Filming Pt.4
This weekend we finished filming the remainder of our scenes. There were some scene which we had to refilm since some of the original video files got corrupt, but we undoubtedly got to made improvements on these shots since we had the chance to review them and figure out what could be better.
However, my hard drive unfortunately corrupted on Saturday and completely wiped all my uni work form the past three years. Fortunately we had some back ups but was not able to zip up and save a back up of the footage as my hard drive couldn't even handle that. However, we still have all the phone footage (which is what we filmed the montage section with) and all the footage we filmed on Saturday. Therefore we only have to refilm half of our scenes and add them to the back up of our rough cut. Although it was a really unfortunate situation it definitely reminded me how important it is to have back ups - hence I now have two drives where I will be backing up my work from now on.
Finding Assets and HDRI maps
Since I was busy dealing with my corrupt hard drive for majority of the week, all I could really do was find 3d assets and HDRI maps to use when I start working on my scenes. I found all my assets on Sketchfab for free and managed to find HDRI maps that closely matched the lighting of my scenes. However I will need to use a chrome ball and make my own HDRI map for the arcade scene. I will also need to model a pool floaty that can fit around our bear model and I will edit the textures of the 'canvas' model to make it look like there is a painting on it.
